August Bookish Colorway: Don't Forget

This listing is for the August installment of our 2026 Bookish Club! The book we chose this month is Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry, the first in a trilogy (#3 is coming 2027!). This series was one of Ellen's picks for the club, and guys when I say she's been obsessed with it since she started it many many moons ago I'm only slightly exaggerating - the twists were twisting HARD for this one. This series leans more YA, so the romance is much more mild than other books in the club, but the yearning is off the charts!
This colorway was inspired by our fiery FMC, with a warm palette of oranges, pinks, and reds that are at once moody and bright. Its name was inspired by a quote from our MMC, and holds significance throughout the series. It dyes up similarly across the bases (the yak dyes a smidge darker, and the NSW shows a bit less contrast and blends more), and fades beautifully with February's club colorway "seam of my mouth"!
If you have a subscription, you should be all set! This listing is for individual skeins, NOT for the year-long subscription (so it will not auto-renew), and this colorway will be open through August 5th around 7pm EST! Your yarn will be dyed immediately, and shipped by August 15th.
Our 2026 Bookish Club as a whole will include twelve brand new variegated colorways inspired by some of our favorite (spicy 🌶️) reads! While some of the books we've chosen to showcase have quickly gained a lot of popularity in bookish communities, we also selected some of our favorite books that were self-published by indie authors. There is a lot of talent out there bringing a wide range of characters and stories to life, and we want to do our part to show support to indie authors, while maybe introducing you to a few. Please pay attention to trigger warnings for the books that inspired the colorways in this club, and check out the authors' websites for more specific info.
Note: Unlike our last club, this club will not be a fade. The colorways will coordinate to work as part of a cohesive collection, but we would rather put energy into creating colorways we love, inspired by books and authors we love, than limit ourselves to fade the colorways from month-to-month.

We recommend hand-washing all of your projects and laying them flat to dry, even if they are made using superwashed fibers! This will help to extend the life of your projects, as well as maintain their vibrant colors and overall fitted shape. We love using a gentle wool wash, such as Eucalan or Soak wool wash, to clean projects made with hand-dyed yarn.
