This listing is for the January installment of our 2026 Bookish Club! The book we chose this month is Lights Out by Navessa Allen, the first book in the Into Darkness trilogy. We love this author's writing style (highly recommend the audiobooks too 👀) and took a lot of inspiration from the use of dark humor by all characters in this universe. The palette for this colorway leans dark, some bright (but moody) blues and purples in the mix.
Our 2026 Bookish Club as a whole will include twelve brand new variegated colorways inspired by some of our favorite (spicy 🌶️) reads! While some of the books we've chosen to showcase have quickly gained a lot of popularity in bookish communities, we also selected some of our favorite books that were self-published by indie authors. There is a lot of talent out there bringing a wide range of characters and stories to life, and we want to do our part to show support to indie authors, while maybe introducing you to a few. Please pay attention to trigger warnings for the books that inspired the colorways in this club, and check out the authors' websites for more specific info.
Note: Unlike our last club, this club will not be a fade. The colorways will coordinate to work as part of a cohesive collection, but we would rather put energy into creating colorways we love, inspired by books and authors we love, than limiting ourselves to fade the colorways from month-to-month.
Purchasing a subscription for the year of Bookish Club will give you a 15% discount on your yarn. The subscription will be billed monthly, and you can cancel the subscription later if you change your mind. Feel free to message us with any questions about the subscription option, or if you'd like to change your subscription for an upcoming monthly colorways :) The individual skeins do not include a discount, and they will not auto-renew, so there are no obligations for future payments. If you have a subscription, you may add on as many individual skeins as you'd like to an existing subscription, and we will ship them all together and honor your discount by issuing a partial refund for the extra skeins.

We recommend hand-washing all of your projects and laying them flat to dry, even if they are made using superwashed fibers! This will help to extend the life of your projects, as well as maintain their vibrant colors and overall fitted shape. We love using a gentle wool wash, such as Eucalan or Soak wool wash, to clean projects made with hand-dyed yarn.
